Our History
Bodegas El Cidacos Winery was founded by Perez-Marzo family in the first half of the 19th century. According to historical documents, Perez-Marzo supplied Rioja wines to the court of the Spanish Queen Maria Christina of Austria.
In the late 19th century, during phylloxera epidemic in Bordeaux, Bodegas El Cidacos family mainly exported Rioja wines to France.
The modern history of the winery starts in the middle of the 20th century, when Bodegas El Cidacos completely rebuilt the factory and established a new bodega in the very heart of the Rioja Baja region near the river Cidacos.
We produce Rioja DOCa wines in a small picturesque village Tudelilla for over 60 years. Bodegas El Cidacos is a modern, technically equipped factory with a total production capacity of 3,500,000 bottles per year. The winery provides a full production cycle from the acceptance of grapes to bottling of Rioja DOCa wine.
It has a grape acceptance and processing equipment, 14 vertical vilifiers for pulp fermentation with a volume of 53,000 litres each, 20 stainless steel tanks for storing wine with a volume of 30,000 litres each, oak barrels for wine aging with the capacity 225 litres each, cold stabilisation system, filtration equipment, filling and capping line with a capacity of up to 5500 bottles per hour, labelling equipment.
The cellar of Bodegas El Cidacos winery stores around 2000 French oak barrels. The warehouse can hold up to 2200 pallets at the same time.
Bodegas El Cidacos winery is equipped with a modern laboratory, which allows to carry out the necessary primary analyses at each stage of production. The quality of wine Bodegas El Cidacos is closely monitored by professional enologist Zigor Gomez de Segura Dominguez.
